The story

Kyle Wolf built Dabble for his own two-year-old after every "kids" drawing app the family tried buried the crayons under ads, pop-ups and mini-games. Dabble is one canvas and twelve markers, with nothing to tap by accident: the menu only opens after a 2-second hold, and the canvas flips to black so the markers glow like neon. There are no ads, no accounts and no tracking, and drawings never leave the device.

Version 1.0.5 is the first big expansion of what a toddler can make in Dabble. Seven Magic Markers turn a scribble into glitter, rainbow, pink dust, watercolor, neon, confetti or bubbles, and every sparkle lands in the same place each time a drawing is reopened, so the gallery always matches the canvas. Dabble Pro families also get a palette editor: two big sliders for hue and shade, two to sixteen colours, drag to reorder, so a child can draw with "exactly my purple".
